World number one returns to Glasgow to play 18-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer in an exciting evening of tennis and entertainment, to raise money for charity

London, 9th February, 2017: World number one, Andy Murray, today announced that tennis legend Roger Federer will join him for his second tennis exhibition event, Andy Murray Live presented by SSE. The charity fundraiser will return to The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, on Tuesday 7th November this year.

Tickets go on sale today, with half of all seats costing just £25, making the event very accessible for all. Last year tickets sold out within 48-hours and demand this year is expected to be even higher.

The event will feature a mix of world-class tennis and some light-hearted entertainment. Following the singles match against Federer, Murray will be joined by brother Jamie to take on Tim Henman and Mansour Bahrami in a more relaxed doubles challenge.

Once again, all proceeds from the event will be donated to charity. Funds this year will be shared equally between Unicef, the world’s leading children’s organisation, of which Murray is a UK Ambassador, and a local Scottish charity to be announced soon.

Fans unable to make it to Glasgow for the carnival of tennis can follow all of the action as it happens on Eurosport. ‘Andy Murray Live’ has partnered with Eurosport, the Home of Grand Slam tennis, to broadcast the event exclusively across the United Kingdom, Europe and around the world.

Murray said, “Last year was such a fantastic night and to raise over £300,000 for Unicef and Young People’s Futures in our first year was amazing. This year is going to be even bigger and better and I am so pleased to be able to bring Roger to play in Scotland for the first time – he will get a chance to see for himself just how enthusiastic Scottish fans are, and what a great venue The SSE Hydro is. It is also important for me to be able support Unicef again this year, and to help a different local charity as well."

The event is being presented by SSE with host city Glasgow, and other official partners including Standard Life, Under Armour, Jaguar, Dakota, Head, Brodies and the Wimbledon Foundation.
